The two initially met at church, where Chris later admitted to “sneaking some glances” at her, and eventually started dating in 2018.
In an interview with Extra, Katherine revealed that, instead of opting for the typical dinner or movie, she took Chris to a barn the first time they went out. “I took him to the barn on the first date,” she confessed. “We didn’t even know each other. He was trying to figure out where we should go on our very first date, and I was like, ‘Let’s drive to Carpinteria. We’ll be in nature.'”
Katherine said she also wanted Chris to meet her horse, Cinco, whom she joked ultimately “approved.”
“I got a gauge on that whole vibe,” she said of Chris, “and it was great.”
Katherine also acknowledged that this came with some risks. “It was definitely a risk to take, like a five-hour drive with someone that you don’t know,” she said, “but it lended itself to a lot of talking and conversation.”
I guess it worked out, too, as they’ve now been married for six years and have three children together: daughters, Lyla Maria and Eloise Christina, and a son, Ford Fitzgerald.
