Tara Reid has reported an incident to the police, alleging that she was drugged and subsequently hospitalized while in the Chicago area.
In her online report to the Rosemont Police Department, filed on Tuesday, November 25, Reid described a suspicious atmosphere in the hotel lobby, where she encountered several individuals she believed were YouTubers. “There were a bunch of people in the lobby that were supposedly YouTubers. They had their phones out and the whole thing felt suspicious, but I didn’t know what was going on,” she stated.
The actress was staying at the Doubletree Hotel while attending a celebrity signing event over the weekend when she claimed to have ordered a glass of white wine at the hotel bar.
According to Reid, a man named Sean P. introduced himself as a “very successful influencer and YouTuber” and joined her at the bar. She alleged that he accompanied her outside for a cigarette break.
“We went out for a smoke, exchanged numbers and came back, and there was a napkin over my drink,” she recounted. “Then the last thing I remember was drinking that drink and seeing a couple sitting next to us.”
Reid stated that her next memory was waking up in a hospital approximately eight hours later, with no recollection of the events leading up to that moment. “I completely blacked out with no recollection of anything,” she noted in her police report. “I don’t remember leaving the hotel. I don’t remember being in the ambulance or anything.”
Her agent later located the hospital where she had been admitted and picked her up. The hospital staff reportedly informed her that she was “free to go.” Reid and her agent then returned to the hotel to retrieve her belongings and check out before flying back to Los Angeles.
Upon returning to Los Angeles, Reid began the process of filing a police report. During this time, she claimed to have received a text message from Sean P., who allegedly sent her videos of the incident. “The guy Sean P., [who] I had a cigarette with texted me the videos of me the next day,” she alleged. “I thought he was trying to extort [me], saying he could stop the videos from going out and he also told me I called security on him and confirmed that I only had one drink.”
Reid expressed her willingness to pursue legal action, stating, “I am willing to prosecute.”
A source informed Us Weekly on Monday, November 24, that Reid was in Chicago for ComicCon and had drawn the attention of some YouTubers while at the hotel bar. According to the insider, Reid “went outside for a cigarette and left a glass of wine at the bar.” Upon her return, a napkin was allegedly placed over her glass, which Reid claimed she “never put” there.
The source added that Reid “took a couple of sips and the next thing she remembered was waking up in the hospital,” noting that she was “really freaked out by the whole thing.” The initial report was made by TMZ.
In a statement to Us Weekly through her representative, Reid confirmed her intention to file a police report regarding the incident, emphasizing her full cooperation with the investigation. “Tara is recovering and asks for privacy during this traumatic time. She also urges everyone to be careful, watch your drinks and never leave them unattended, as this can happen to anyone. She will not be making further comments at this stage,” the statement read.
