In a November 10 episode of the podcast “Cat & Nat Unfiltered,” Katherine elaborated on her approach to chores, which she noted mirrors the methods her father employed when raising her and her siblings, including Joseph Baena, his son from an extramarital affair.
The conversation began with Katherine discussing her family pets, including chickens she adopted from a friend during a natural disaster evacuation. She later had to rehome the roosters after discovering they were not permitted in Los Angeles. Katherine mentioned that her daughters assist with chores, stating, “And my girls are learning about chores.”
She expressed her commitment to traditional chore practices, saying, “I am very traditional with the chores and the implementation of the chores. This is probably a little bit of my father coming out, but my dad had no patience or excuses for not doing your chores.”
Reflecting on Strict Parenting
Katherine recalled a specific incident where her father enforced strict rules by making her leave a school dance for not completing her chores. “I was brought home from my semi-formal because I didn’t take my clothes out of the dryer and fold them,” she explained. “My dad was very strict about it.”
At the time, Katherine was frustrated with her father’s discipline, saying, “I was always like, ‘This is terrible. How could you do this to us? Nobody has chores like this.’ Now I’m like, we’re doing the same thing.”
