Candice King, known for her role in “The Vampire Diaries,” is anticipating her third child, her first with fiancé Steven Krueger. The couple shared their excitement exclusively with Us Weekly on December 8 after a recent babymoon in Aruba.
Pregnancy Announcement
King, 38, expressed her joy about the pregnancy, stating, “My fiancé and I are thrilled. It’s something we’ve been dreaming about for a while.” She revealed she is nearly halfway through her pregnancy, with a due date in May 2026. “The priority for us is a healthy mom and baby, and each milestone has been a celebration,” she added.
Babymoon in Aruba
The couple took a trip to Aruba to celebrate the news. King, who resides in Nashville, Tennessee, noted the convenience of traveling to the islands. “It’s a beautiful place to unwind and feel safe,” she said. The trip focused on relaxation, contrasting a previous visit to Japan that was meticulously planned.
The getaway was particularly special for the couple. “Being early in my pregnancy, Aruba was ideal with its beaches and sun. It’s crucial to relax and listen to your body,” King shared. The couple enjoyed the island’s offerings, including massages and fresh fruit.
Career and Personal Life
Candice King gained fame as Caroline Forbes on “The Vampire Diaries” from 2009 to 2017, while Krueger appeared in the spinoff “The Originals.” King was previously married to Joe King, with whom she shares two daughters, Florence and Josephine. The couple separated after over a decade together.

King began her relationship with Krueger in 2023 and has shared various milestones, including her current pregnancy. “I love being a mother, and Steven already shows how wonderful a father he will be,” she said.
Family Reactions
The pregnancy news has brought the family closer. “When we told the kids, my 5-year-old exclaimed, ‘It’s my kid.’ She loves babies and is thrilled,” King recalled. The family has shared many joyful moments together.

King and Krueger, who announced their engagement six months ago, are not rushing into wedding plans. “We’re planning something special, but my health is the priority,” King explained. The couple is also preparing for work commitments, including filming season 2 of “We Were Liars” in Nova Scotia.
