Khloé Kardashian Addresses Criticism Over Amari Thompson’s Dance Class
Khloé Kardashian responded to negative remarks about Tristan Thompson’s brother, Amari, participating in a dance class. In a video shared on her Instagram Stories, the Good American co-founder expressed her disapproval of the comments questioning Amari’s awareness and engagement in the class.
Kardashian emphasized the importance of understanding and respecting the interests of individuals with special needs, urging those unfamiliar with such experiences to refrain from commenting.
Highlighting Special Needs Dance Academy
The reality star, 41, announced her intention to share videos from Amari’s dance class, highlighting the dance academy’s efforts in supporting children with special needs. She shared her admiration for the academy’s work and the joy it brings to the children.
Amari, who has Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, a form of epilepsy, was shown enjoying the dance class in the videos shared by Kardashian.
Family Support and Care
In one video, instructors are seen spinning Amari, 19, as he smiles in his specialized wheelchair. Kardashian also posted a photo with Amari and the dance teachers, expressing gratitude for their support.
After the passing of Amari’s mother, Andrea Thompson, in January 2023, Kardashian became his main caretaker due to Tristan’s demanding NBA schedule. She explained the challenges of frequent travel for Amari and the decision to keep him in Los Angeles.
Guardianship and Family Dynamics
Tristan Thompson filed for temporary guardianship over Amari in September 2023, citing their father’s lack of involvement since 2014. The court granted him authority over Amari’s finances and travel arrangements.
Tristan and Kardashian ended their relationship in 2021 following a paternity lawsuit involving Tristan and another woman. Despite their split, Kardashian continues to support Amari, believing his presence is valuable for her children and family.
