Brandon Sklenar Caught in Legal Drama Surrounding ‘It Ends With Us’
Actor Brandon Sklenar found himself unexpectedly involved in the legal disputes between his co-stars Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively, leading to a surge of online hostility directed at him.
Rising Visibility and Online Backlash
Sklenar, who portrayed Atlas Corrigan in the 2024 film adaptation of It Ends With Us, shared with The Hollywood Reporter on December 17 that his role, though minor, significantly increased his public profile. During the film’s press tour in August 2024, he posted on Instagram urging fans to be more considerate.
“Colleen [Hoover] and the women of this cast embody hope and perseverance,” Sklenar wrote, emphasizing the importance of the film’s message. He criticized the negative treatment of the cast, which he felt detracted from the film’s core themes.
Sklenar addressed the online rumors, stating, “What may or may not have happened behind the scenes should not overshadow our intentions with this film.” He urged followers to consider the impact of their words online.
Public Reaction and Personal Impact
Despite his intentions, Sklenar faced immediate backlash, receiving harsh messages and threats. He described the experience as overwhelming, likening it to overhearing a crowd of people discussing him negatively.

His agent advised him to avoid the online discourse, but Sklenar found it difficult to ignore the widespread commentary.
Legal Disputes Among Co-Stars
The film, based on Colleen Hoover’s novel, became infamous due to off-screen controversies. Blake Lively accused director and co-star Justin Baldoni of sexual harassment, filing a lawsuit in December 2024. Baldoni denied the allegations and filed a countersuit, which was later dismissed. The original lawsuit is set for trial in March 2026.

Prominent figures like Ryan Reynolds and Taylor Swift were also drawn into the controversy.
Moving Forward
Despite the turmoil, Sklenar has continued to secure roles in major projects, including Drop and The Housemaid with Amanda Seyfried and Sydney Sweeney. Sklenar and Sweeney bonded over their shared experiences with public scrutiny.
Sweeney faced her own backlash over an American Eagle ad, which some misinterpreted. She and the brand denied any negative intentions, emphasizing inclusivity and unity.
