In an interview with Movieline, she expressed strong opinions about several actresses, particularly targeting Paltrow. Lopez dismissed Salma Hayek as merely a “sexy bombshell” and questioned the authenticity of her claims regarding the role of Selena. She described Winona Ryder as “cute and talented” but primarily noted her resemblance to her sister, Leslie. However, when it came to Paltrow, Lopez was notably harsh:
“Tell me what she’s been in? I swear to God, I don’t remember anything she was in. Some people get hot by association. I heard more about her and Brad Pitt than I ever heard about her work.”
Lopez’s remarks suggested that Paltrow was primarily recognized for her relationship with Pitt rather than her acting skills.
In a remarkable turn of events, Paltrow responded to Lopez’s critique by winning the Academy Award for Best Actress the following year for her role in Shakespeare in Love.

An anonymous tip to the gossip account DeuxMoi indicated that both actresses will participate in an “upcoming actress roundtable.” The source noted:
“An upcoming actress roundtable features an Oscar winner making a return to acting after a long break and an actress-singer. The actress-singer insulted the Oscar winner (and other actresses as well) in an interview for the 90s. She said the Oscar winner was known more for her relationship with a famous actor than her acting career.”

While speculation abounds regarding potential tensions, recent reports suggest that both actresses are on amicable terms. They were seen together at the Governor’s Ball last week, with a source telling DailyMail.com:
“They are doing OK, they are friends. There is no frost, no bad vibes, they are good.”
Furthermore, both women are expected to attend The Hollywood Reporter‘s annual Women In Entertainment breakfast gala at the Beverly Hills Hotel on December 3.
