Fans are eagerly anticipating the return of Netflix’s popular series Nobody Wants This. The streaming giant announced in November 2025 that the romantic comedy will be back for a third season in 2026.

Creator Erin Foster expressed her enthusiasm in a statement to Netflix, saying, “I couldn’t be more excited to head into a third season of this show. It is a privilege to be able to write about my favorite couple on a scale like this. As long as it doesn’t take too much time away from me watching reality TV at night, I’ll do it for as long as they want me to!”

Showrunners Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan echoed Foster’s excitement, stating they are “so grateful” to continue with another season.

The third season has been officially confirmed, but questions remain about the full cast’s return. The series, which debuted in September 2024, follows the unexpected romance between Joanne (Kristen Bell), an outspoken agnostic, and Noah (Adam Brody), an unconventional rabbi. The show quickly became a hit, leading to a second season.

“This job is criminally fun,” Konner and Kaplan told Netflix. “Working with the uniquely gifted Erin Foster, this unbelievable cast of talented, hilarious pros, amazing writers, and incredible crew has been a truly great experience.”

Nobody Wants This, which released its second season in October 2025, explores the relationship between an agnostic sex podcaster (Kristen Bell) and a rabbi (Adam Brody) as they navigate cultural differences and family interference.

The series also features Justine Lupe, Timothy Simons, and Jackie Tohn.

Season 2 Recap

Season 2 concluded with Noah and Joanne breaking up, only to reconcile when Noah realized Joanne was his soulmate. Joanne also considered converting to Judaism.

“We wanted to end on romance, not religion,” Erin Foster told Tudum in October 2025. “The romance is him saying, ‘I don’t care what you are, I’m choosing you.’ We don’t need her to say, ‘Oh, my God, I’ve been Jewish this entire time.’ We know that’s about to happen.”

Foster added that Joanne is “trying so hard to see it that she can’t see it.”

“She’s yearning for something to give her structure, purpose, boundaries, values, and traditions,” Foster explained. “Judaism can provide her with those things. She’s enjoying various aspects of Judaism but expects a divine sign to confirm her conversion.”

Meanwhile, Joanne’s sister Morgan (Justine Lupe) ended her engagement with Dr. Andy (Arian Moayed) and grew closer to Noah’s brother Sasha (Timothy Simons), whose marriage to Esther (Jackie Tohn) also faced challenges.

“I have faith in Morgan’s happy ending,” Lupe told Us Weekly in December 2025. “I think she will find her happy ending.”

According to Deadline, season 3 will likely explore Joanne’s journey towards converting to Judaism. The season may also delve into Morgan and Sasha’s evolving relationship.

Lupe expressed her excitement about exploring her character’s dynamic with Simons, stating, “Tim is my favorite person to act with. He’s a dear friend, and I love being in scenes with him.”

She added that it would be “really fun” to see Morgan and Sasha as “weird, oddball buddies roaming around town.”

“There’s so much potential. I would be happy with anything,” she told the outlet.
