Get Ready for Exciting New Music Coming in 2026

The lineup for new music releases in 2026 includes confirmed studio albums from Joe Jackson, Megadeth, and Squeeze, as well as a comprehensive box set reissue from Yes. Vinyl editions of live albums by Van Halen and Cream are also forthcoming.

Joe Jackson is set to release his first rock album since 2019. Titled Hope and Fury, it follows his 2023 album What a Racket! which featured music hall compositions recorded with an orchestra. Megadeth will unveil their final self-titled album, which includes a cover of Metallica’s “Ride the Lightning.” Dave Mustaine, the band leader, contributed to the song before being dismissed from Metallica in 1983.

Upcoming Rock Album Releases in 2026

Squeeze’s new album, Trixies, features songs written by Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook before their debut album. Lindsey Buckingham is also working on a new project for 2026, though details are yet to be disclosed. Other confirmed albums without release dates include John Mellencamp’s Orphan Train, Geoff Tate’s Operation: Mindcrime III, Alda Nova’s This Is Your Reality, and Aviana from Asia Featuring John Payne.

The year’s reissues will include a deluxe 12CD/Blu-ray edition of Yes’ 1973 prog classic, Tales From Topographic Oceans, featuring a new Steven Wilson remix and previously unreleased recordings. A 4CD set will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Power Station’s 1985 debut, featuring Robert Palmer, Tony Thompson, and Duran Duran’s John and Andy Taylor.

Plans for albums by Beach Boys legend Brian Wilson (Cows in the Pasture) and former Kiss co-founder Ace Frehley (Origins, Vol. 3) were halted due to their deaths in 2025. Frehley had mentioned a possible spring release. U2’s Songs of Ascent remains unreleased. A list of other anticipated or rumored albums follows.
