I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! is set to bring back a fan favourite trial this week, with the challenge returning to the Australian jungle for the first time in three years
Bosses of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! are set to reintroduce a fan favourite – the live trial.
The challenge is due to make a comeback on the ITV reality show this week.
This will mark the first time that the live trial has been featured in the Australian jungle since 2019, although one was included in the 2020 series, which was filmed at Gwrych Castle in Wales due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Show producers have revealed that the special trial will be dubbed Cocktails of Cruelty and, as the name implies, it will be a drinking challenge where campers compete against each other, reports the Express.
Some details have also been revealed, with I’m a Celebrity hinting that “the stakes are high” and that “the celebrities will definitely want to win this Trial”.
As the challenge commences, the stars will each have to choose two “delicious” jungle ingredients that their opponent in the head-to-head contest will then have to consume.
The ITV show’s hosts, Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly, will signal when the stars can start drinking their stomach-churning concoctions.
From that point, it’s a race against time, as the first celebrity to finish their drink and place their glass back on the table will be declared the winner.
Over the years, the show’s live trial has proven popular with viewers and has provided some unforgettable I’m a Celebrity moments, including Gillian McKeith fainting live on air and Dean Gaffney making a late entry into the jungle and immediately facing a challenge.
“All of these moments have gone down into I’m A Celeb folklore, what could 2025 bring?!” the broadcaster playfully hinted.
The last time we saw a live trial in Australia was back in 2019, featuring big names like Caitlyn Jenner, Jacqueline Jossa, Roman Kemp and Ian Wright.
This year’s jungle dwellers include rapper Aitch, footballer turned TV star Alex Scott, model and actress Kelly Brook, Spandau Ballet’s Martin Kemp and telly personality Ruby Wax.
Joining them are soap favourites Lisa Riley and Shona McGarty, presenter Vogue Williams and Jack Osbourne, son of the late Ozzy Osbourne.
