Jeff Lewis Discusses Relationship with Andy Cohen Following BravoCon Fallout
Jeff Lewis provided insights into his current relationship with Andy Cohen during a recent episode of his radio program, following a public disagreement at BravoCon. The 55-year-old former star of Flipping Out addressed various topics, including a remark he made about Monica Garcia, 42, being on food stamps, and his interaction with Lala Kent, 35, regarding a comment directed at a sober fan. He also clarified whether he was the anonymous caller during the Real Housewives of Orange County finale.
In the November 21 episode of SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live, Lewis stated that while Cohen, 57, was upset with him, their relationship has improved. “We’re much better … I have no problem saying, ‘I’m sorry,’” he remarked. “We have an 18-year friendship … I have a lot of love for Andy … I didn’t care what 5,000 people thought of me that I don’t know.”
Lewis expressed regret for hurting Cohen and acknowledged the impact of his actions. “I was really upset that I f*cked up his day,” he admitted. “I screwed up his panel, and that was what I was really most upset about … I was aggressive. I was negative. I got frustrated with him. I am sorry,” he explained.
Comment on Monica Garcia
Regarding his comment about Monica being on food stamps, Lewis clarified that he “insinuated” it but later seemed to reaffirm his stance. “Five kids and no job? That’s a lot. Kids are expensive. Can I tell you? I can’t afford to have five kids. If I can’t afford to have five kids, she certainly can’t afford to have five kids,” he stated. “I was making a joke, which was inappropriate, and it didn’t land very well.” He added, “My whole point was saying, ‘What happened to hiring affluent women?’ That’s what I was saying to Andy.”
Interaction with Sober Fan
On the topic of his interaction with a sober fan at BravoCon, Lewis noted that his comment regarding the event not being suitable for someone in recovery was “taken out of context.” He elaborated, “He was very long-winded, and he could not read a room, and he was a downer. He killed the vibe … what happened was, I said, ‘Do you think, now that you’ve fallen off the wagon, you were in recovery, do you think BravoCon is a good place to be?’” He acknowledged that while his comment was snarky and possibly insensitive, his intention was to highlight the temptations present at the event.
Response to Lala Kent
Addressing Lala Kent’s criticism of him on Instagram, Lewis expressed confusion over why she did not reach out to him directly. “I must’ve talked to her for 30 minutes at JSX before we flew to Vegas. I thought we were friends. If she has a problem, call me. We’ll talk about it,” he urged.
Clarification on RHOC Finale Caller
During the same episode, Lewis responded to speculation that Shannon Beador, 62, had prompted him to make a phone call during the RHOC finale, in which a mystery caller accused Tamra Judge, 58, of leaking stories. “Have I ever hid behind anybody? I would not do that because I don’t believe it anyway,” he asserted.
