The announcement was made at a high-profile event attended by Tamil Nadu’s Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, renowned actor Kamal Haasan, Minister of Tamil Development M.P Saminathan, and other notable figures from the South Indian film and television industry. This collaboration aims to promote regional storytelling beyond geographical boundaries and includes initiatives like writing labs and mentorship programs to support upcoming filmmakers and writers.

Launch of New Entertainment Lineup

Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin unveiled JioHotstar’s new lineup of 25 titles, emphasizing the platform’s commitment to featuring regional narratives prominently. This partnership is expected to generate significant employment opportunities, with an estimated 1,000 direct and 15,000 indirect jobs.

JioHotstar’s upcoming slate includes popular franchises and new originals such as “Kerala Crime Files S3” and “Save The Tigers S3”. The platform is also introducing regional adaptations and new films like “Kaattaan” starring Vijay Sethupathi.

Expanding Unscripted Content

JioHotstar continues to lead in the unscripted segment, expanding its reality portfolio with shows like “Comedy Cooks” and “Second Love”. For the first time, “Roadies” will premiere in Telugu, furthering JioHotstar’s dominance in non-fiction entertainment.
