Julia Roberts Shines at 2025 Gotham Awards
On Monday, October 1, Julia Roberts, 58, attended the Gotham Awards at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City with After the Hunt director Luca Guadagnino. The Oscar-winning actress dazzled in a blue satin suit paired with black stilettos, her red hair elegantly cascading over her shoulders.
Roberts and Guadagnino, 54, received the Visionary Tribute award, presented by Paul Rudd. During their joint speech, Roberts humorously acted as Guadagnino’s “translator,” repeating his English speech in Italian.
Hollywood stars showcased their finest attire at the 35th Annual Gotham Film Awards, held by the Gotham Film & Media Institute on December 1.
Roberts joked about needing a quick speech due to an urgent restroom break, thanking everyone for their creative contributions in challenging times. She expressed her excitement about working with Guadagnino, hoping for future collaborations.
The Gotham Awards Visionary Tribute was announced in advance for Roberts and Guadagnino’s film. Jeffrey Sharp, Executive Director of The Gotham Film & Media Institute, praised their collaboration, highlighting Roberts’ performance in After the Hunt as a career milestone.

After the Hunt follows Alma’s internal struggle when a student accuses a colleague, and a secret from her past emerges.
