One day after announcing their divorce, Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker showed the world what co-parenting done right looks like. The estranged couple came together Saturday to celebrate their daughter Blaze’s sixth birthday with an enchanting Snow White party at Ready, Set FUN! in Atlanta.

The reunion came just 24 hours after Burruss, 49, shared news of their separation on Friday, Nov. 21. After 11 years of marriage and two children together, the reality star told the media that she had made the difficult decision to move forward with divorce. She emphasized that her focus would remain on protecting her peace, being the best mother possible, and maintaining a loving co-parenting relationship with Tucker, 52.

A new chapter begins

Burruss described this transition as an opportunity to pour energy into her work, family, and personal growth. The Grammy-winning singer and businesswoman expressed appreciation for everyone who had supported their relationship over the years. She requested privacy and understanding as the family navigates this major life change.

The couple’s story began on the set of The Real Housewives of Atlanta during its fourth season in 2011. Tucker worked as a producer on the show when sparks flew between them. Their romance moved quickly, with an engagement announcement following in January 2013. By April 2014, they had tied the knot in a ceremony that fans watched unfold on the reality series.

Building their family

Their path to parenthood took different forms. Son Ace arrived in 2014, bringing joy to their growing household. Five years later, on Nov. 22, 2019, they welcomed daughter Blaze through surrogacy. The decision to use a surrogate wasn’t easy, as Burruss later revealed on the We Are Family podcast in 2020.

She admitted the couple struggled with trusting someone they barely knew with something so precious. Questions swirled about whether surrogacy was the right choice and how they could place such faith in another person. Looking back, though, Burruss said it was the best decision they could have made and she wouldn’t change anything about their journey.

The IVF process for Ace had been emotionally intense as well. In 2018, Burruss opened up about that experience, recalling how she definitely cried when Ace came into the world. Beyond her two children with Tucker, Burruss is also mother to 23-year-old daughter Riley from a previous relationship.

Kandi’s kids in the spotlight

At just 9 years old, Ace has already stepped into the entertainment world. He hosts his own YouTube channel called Ace Plays And Giveaways, which has attracted more than 20,000 subscribers. The platform gives him space to connect with an audience while exploring his interests in gaming and giveaways.

Meanwhile, Burruss continues building her multifaceted career. The reality star is set to return to Broadway, taking the stage in & Juliet from Dec. 6 through March 8. The role marks another milestone in her journey from Grammy-winning songwriter to reality television star to Broadway performer.

Family first philosophy

Just two months before the divorce announcement, Burruss shared her perspective on family conflicts during a September interview. She talked about her unusual approach to arguments, explaining that she simply moves on without needing apologies. Some people find this weird, but it works for her.

The singer noted that she knows people who have cut off family members entirely and no longer speak to relatives. That concept strikes her as completely crazy. Her philosophy seems to be serving her well now as she and Tucker work to maintain family unity despite their separation.

Saturday’s birthday bash proved that philosophy in action. The Snow White themed celebration gave Blaze a magical sixth birthday surrounded by both parents. It sent a clear message that while their marriage has ended, their commitment to raising their children together remains rock solid.

The couple’s ability to show up for their daughter so quickly after announcing their split speaks volumes about their priorities. Burruss has made it clear she intends to step into this new chapter with grace, focusing on what matters most. For now, that means being present for moments like Blaze’s birthday, regardless of personal circumstances.

As they move forward separately, Burruss and Tucker appear determined to prove that divorce doesn’t have to mean family division. Their approach offers hope that even when romantic relationships end, respect and love for children can keep former partners connected in meaningful ways.
