Margot Robbie hosted Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein Los Angeles Tastemaker Screening and Q&A at the Netflix Tudum Theater this week which was a far more intimate, informal gathering than the usual step-and-repeat frenzy.
The Australian actress leaned fully into the relaxed mood of the evening, wearing a John Galliano Fall/Winter 2005 jacket with a pair of jeans and Ferragamo peep-toe mules. It’s the kind of look that says, “I’m here to talk about the film, not stage a fashion moment,” while still delivering a fashion moment by accident.
The jacket is a treasure for Galliano devotees: the chocolate-and-gold brocade, the frog closures, the fur-trimmed accents — all the little theatrical details that defined his mid-2000s work. What keeps it current is exactly how she styled it. Jeans instantly disarm the archival drama, bringing the piece into a modern, conversational setting — perfect for a Q&A, where the mood is more “creative exchange” than “flashbulbs and gowns.”
What I love is how natural it feels. It’s casual, and charming.
