Michele Reiner
Michele Reiner, a photographer, met Rob during the filming of “When Harry Met Sally.” At the time, Rob was recently divorced and quickly developed feelings for Michele, which influenced the film’s romantic ending.
Rob explained to AARP in 2014, “I had been single for 10 years after a previous marriage, and meeting Michele changed my perspective on relationships.”
The couple married in 1989, the same year the movie was released, and had three children. They remained together until their tragic deaths. Authorities confirmed they were found with fatal injuries at their Brentwood, California home. Rob was 78, and Michele was 68.
Jake Reiner
Jake Reiner, born on May 2, 1991, pursued a career in entertainment, acting in shows like “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and “War of the Worlds.” He also hosts the baseball podcast “Meeting on the Mound.”
Rob shared that Jake’s enthusiasm for baseball was inherited from his grandfather, Carl Reiner. “My dad loved baseball, and I passed that love on to Jake,” Rob told People in 2023.
Nick Reiner
Born on September 14, 1993, Nick Reiner battled addiction from a young age, entering rehab at 15 and facing homelessness due to his struggles.
Despite his challenges, Nick worked in the film industry, co-writing the screenplay for “Being Charlie,” which was directed by his father and reflected his personal experiences with addiction.
Nick was identified as a suspect in his parents’ deaths and was charged with murder on December 14, 2025.
Romy Reiner
Romy Reiner, born on December 27, 1997, is active in the film industry, with credits including acting in “You People” and writing for “Born Again Virgin.”
She shared a close bond with her father, often expressing admiration for him on social media. Romy reportedly found her parents after the incident in December 2025.
Tracy Reiner

Tracy expressed her shock and grief following the news of her parents’ passing, stating, “I came from the greatest family ever. I’m in shock.”
