Royal expert warns Meghan Markle’s Instagram plans could impact Prince Harry’s efforts to reconcile with his father King Charles ahead of Thanksgiving
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are understood to typically enjoy understated Thanksgiving celebrations, though this year could prove different as Harry seeks a Royal reconciliation whilst Meghan prepares to launch her lifestyle brand early next year.
With Thanksgiving approaching, Pauline Maclaran, Royal author and consumer research expert, offered her insights on the Sussexes’ holiday intentions.
Maclaran voiced worries that Meghan’s ambitious pursuits might eclipse Harry’s efforts to rebuild bridges with his father, King Charles.
“Meghan certainly seems to have been sharing more of their private side so she may feature their Thanksgiving celebrations in some way on her Instagram,” Maclaran observed.
She outlined why excessive sharing troubles her: “It does seem Harry is trying not to stir things with his family. I imagine he would like to see his father more frequently and is mindful of how his behaviours may impact on the King”, reports the Mirror US.
Prince William is reportedly becoming more receptive to the prospect of welcoming Harry back into the Royal circle, meaning Harry must remain on his finest behaviour.
Harry appears aware of this and has been monitoring his words and actions carefully. Sometimes circumstances are beyond his influence, such as photographs of him and Meghan surfacing on social media.
However, regarding Meghan’s situation, she’s been posting more frequently on Instagram, which delights Royal followers, yet simultaneously could derail Harry’s attempts to repair relations with the Royal Family.
Meghan is being urged to make shrewd choices regarding the blend of family and business matters.
Maclaran doesn’t anticipate Meghan “creating a fuss over Thanksgiving” as she has alternative arrangements in mind.
“Certainly there’s a gift box of jams featured on her As ever site and talk of the ‘holiday season’ but more in line with Christmas rather than Thanksgiving,” Maclaran said.
“I suspect she is saving most of her efforts for the Christmas trade which makes sense as there is much more gift-giving at this time. Her products are ideal as presents!”
“Given her product range, which is much more suitable for presents, I think it would be a mistake to promote her range too much for Thanksgiving given how close to Christmas it is and the risk of consumer fatigue.”
