Dolores Catania recently reflected on a home invasion incident involving her and her fiancé, Paul “Paulie” Connell, which occurred last month.
As the 54-year-old star of The Real Housewives of New Jersey approaches her 55th birthday, she shared her journey toward peace, discussed her childhood challenges, and addressed her experiences with plastic surgery. During this reflection, Dolores recounted the robbery that transpired after she and Paulie announced on social media that they were away from home.
“That was our mistake. People saw our Instagram and decided it was a good day to break in,” she disclosed in an interview with OK! Magazine on November 24.
Fortunately, she noted, “The police arrived in less than two minutes.”
Recalling the frightening experience, Dolores expressed regret over her social media post. “How am I feeling? Dumb that I posted we weren’t home — and lucky nothing happened,” she admitted.
Dolores emphasized the importance of safety, advising, “Lock your doors and don’t post in real time.” She also recommended, “A good pit bull is the best deterrent.”
Looking forward, Dolores stated her focus for the upcoming year is on achieving “peace.” She said, “I’m going to be 55. I’m looking forward to what brings peace in my life because there’s no price for peace. Don’t waste your time on things that don’t serve you. Know your worth.” She expressed her desire to mentor young women, particularly regarding the challenges of menopause, which she described as “very debilitating” and lacking adequate information.
Despite her current positivity, Dolores reflected on her difficult childhood, revealing, “I have dyslexia. I was placed in special needs classes and called stupid. I only overcame my fear of speaking a few years ago.” She added, “I diagnosed myself later in life. But both of my kids are successful — one’s a veterinarian and one’s in finance — so I must’ve done something right.”
Regarding her cosmetic procedures, Dolores advised her followers not to be hard on themselves as they age. “You have to meet yourself where you’re at. I’m very honest about having some facelift work done — but even if you haven’t, you have to embrace who you are,” she encouraged.
Dolores Catania is set to appear in the upcoming debut season of The Real Housewives of Rhode Island, which is anticipated to premiere on Bravo in early 2026.
