Sean 'Diddy' Combs' mom, Janice, rips Netflix over 'false' claims she was 'slapped' by rapper

Janice Combs, mother of Sean “Diddy” Combs, has refuted claims of abuse made against her son.

In a statement to Deadline on Saturday, she addressed inaccuracies in the Netflix documentary, “Sean Combs: The Reckoning,” released on December 2, 2025.

Janice, 85, stated that the portrayal of Sean’s upbringing and family life was misleading and harmful to their reputation.

Janice, a former teacher’s assistant, dismissed claims by Bad Boy co-founder Kirk Burrowes that Sean, 56, had “slapped” her during a discussion about the 1991 City College stampede, an event organized by Sean, which resulted in nine deaths.

She described the incident as a tragic day and criticized Burrowes for using the tragedy to further his own agenda.

Janice demanded a public retraction of these false statements.

In the documentary, executive produced by 50 Cent, Burrowes claimed he saw Sean physically assault Janice during a conversation about his career choices following the tragedy.

Burrowes has filed several lawsuits against Sean, Janice, and others, alleging abuse, fraud, and conspiracy to seize his ownership in Bad Boy Entertainment.

He claims Sean coerced him into signing over a 25% stake in the company in 1996.

In March, Burrowes accused Sean of engaging in abusive behavior, including unwanted advances and coercion, between 1995 and 1996.

Sean’s legal team dismissed these allegations as frivolous, stating that similar claims have been repeatedly rejected in court over the years.

They criticized Burrowes and his lawyer for involving Sean’s elderly mother in the ongoing legal battles.
