Tennis icon Serena Williams recently offered a heartwarming glimpse into her life with her daughter, Adira River Ohanian, through a series of photos shared on Instagram.

On Monday, Williams posted images of her 2-year-old daughter on the tennis court, showcasing the toddler’s attempts to mimic her mother’s renowned playing style while holding a miniature racket.

In her post, Serena expressed, “This is me sharing my passion for tennis with my youngest daughter.” The photos garnered enthusiastic responses from fans, who described the moment as “precious.” One commenter suggested that Adira might follow in her mother’s illustrious footsteps, saying, “So sweet!!! The champ and mini champ!”

Another fan remarked on the significance of the moment, stating, “This is me saying how precious this truly is. You are an amazing mommy in addition to your endless list of amazing qualities. Love you so much!” A third comment echoed this sentiment, suggesting that Adira could carry on her mother’s legacy in tennis.

Serena and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, welcomed Adira in August 2023. The couple is also parents to their elder daughter, Olympia, who has enjoyed numerous tennis outings with her mother over the years. However, Serena has mentioned that Olympia is not particularly enthusiastic about the sport.

In a 2023 interview with Norah O’Donnell on CBS News’ Person to Person, Williams expressed her disappointment, saying, “That’s a little disappointing for me, but she’s actually really good at it.” She added, “We are trying to figure out a way to get her to play a little bit. Maybe I can push her into tennis by getting other kids to have a group lesson; I think that’s what I’m gonna do.”

Serena Williams stepped away from competitive tennis in 2022, expressing her desire to prioritize family time. In an interview with The Times, she stated, “It comes to a point where women sometimes have to make different choices than men if they want to raise a family. It’s just black and white. You make a choice or you don’t.”
