During The Late Late Show, three new celebrities were introduced as participants for the upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars, which is set to premiere in January.

Host Patrick Kielty spoke with Oti Mabuse, the new head judge, while the newly announced contestants joined the stage alongside Eurovision winner Niamh Kavanagh, who was revealed last Sunday.

Amber Wilson, famous for co-hosting the popular podcast Vogue & Amber with her sister Vogue Williams, is set to bring her vibrant personality to the dance floor. Known for her humor and storytelling, Amber has become a fan favorite on the podcast. She will be paired with a female professional dancer, marking a first for the show. Amber, who grew up in Howth, Dublin, has a background in art history, psychology, and marketing, and has shared her personal journey openly, including her coming out story.

Amber expressed her excitement about joining the show, stating, “I’m thrilled to be part of Dancing with the Stars. It’s a huge challenge and a unique experience. I’m nervous about performing live, but I’m ready to face my fears.” She also highlighted the importance of representation, saying, “Being part of the first female DWTS partnership on Irish television is something I’m deeply proud of.”

Tolü Makay, a Nigerian-Irish singer known for her cover of N17 by The Saw Doctors, which gained widespread attention in 2021, is also joining the show. Her performance gained significant acclaim, including praise from Graham Norton. Tolü has continued to make a mark in the music industry, performing at major events and for prominent figures.

Tolü shared her enthusiasm for the show, saying, “I’m excited for the challenge and the opportunity to learn something new. I love the theatre of getting ready for a show, and I can’t wait for the glam.”

Philip Doyle, an Olympic bronze medalist rower and medical doctor from Banbridge, Co. Down, is the third contestant. Balancing his medical career with sports, Philip discovered rowing during his time at Queen’s University Belfast.

Philip expressed some nerves about the show, commenting, “As an athlete, I strive for high performance, and this is uncharted territory. My friends are eager to watch, likely enjoying the missteps as much as the successes. This is a unique opportunity to learn skills for life events.”

Catch all the excitement starting Sunday, 4 January on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player.
