Formation of New Band TERMINAL
Brian Wheat, bassist and founding member of TESLA, has joined forces with original TESLA guitarist Tommy Skeoch to create a new band named TERMINAL. They are accompanied by former W.A.S.P. guitarist Chris Holmes and original SALIVA vocalist Josey Scott.
Band Formation
In an interview with Jimmy Kay from Canada’s The Metal Voice, Holmes explained how TERMINAL was formed. He met Brian Wheat during the 2022 Monsters Of Rock cruise, and they became friends. Holmes, who resides in the south of France, visited Wheat at his house in Italy, where they discussed forming a band. Holmes shared song ideas, and they began assembling the group.
Wheat shared that he had seen Holmes’s documentary, ‘Mean Man’, and felt a connection. They met on the cruise, bonded over lunch, and decided to collaborate musically. Wheat also reconnected with Skeoch, and they considered Holmes and Skeoch as a perfect match for the new band.
Musical Direction and Progress
The band is currently working on their debut album. Wheat mentioned that Skeoch recently played with his band BAD MARRIAGE, and Holmes completed a tour in Canada. The group gathered in New York to write songs together.
Skeoch described the band’s sound as a mix of rock and melodic elements. Wheat added that the band’s sound will be a blend of their diverse musical influences.
Future Plans
Wheat clarified that he is not leaving TESLA but is excited about this new project. He recently performed with BAD MARRIAGE in New York, marking a reunion with Skeoch after nearly two decades.
Background on Members
In a previous discussion, Wheat expressed his enthusiasm for working with Holmes and Skeoch. The three have been collaborating on songs, aiming to find the right vocalist for their project.
Skeoch, who left TESLA in 2006 to address substance abuse issues, reconnected with Wheat during the 2022 Monsters Of Rock cruise. He acknowledged his past mistakes and the reasons for his departure from TESLA but is now focused on new musical endeavors.
Additional Information
Skeoch was an original member of TESLA, contributing to significant albums like ‘Mechanical Resonance’ and ‘Five Man Acoustical Jam’. After being dismissed due to substance issues in 1994, he rejoined the band during its reformation.
